John W. Bellinger

John Bellinger is the CEO and Chairman of the Board for Food Safety Net Services and FSNS Certification & Audit. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University in 1976 and a Master of Science degree in 1978. While completing his graduate studies, he was an instructor of animal science and coached the Texas A&M Meat Judging Team. Mr. Bellinger is also the CEO of Agri–West International, Inc., an international trading company. He has served as the Chairman of the Southwest Meat Association and the U.S. Meat Export Federation. He has been on the Texas Beef Council Board of Directors, various committees of the National Cattleman’s Beef Association, the Texas A&M Agricultural Advisory Council, Nolan Ryan Beef and is the Founder of the Houston Livestock Show Intercollegiate Meat Judging Contest.

 
President
Gina R. Bellinger

Gina Bellinger serves as the founder and President of Food Safety Net Services. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Texas A&M University. Her research interests include the development of baseline and microbial mapping data in the meat industry. Mrs. Bellinger is co–author of several noted publications concerning the control of pathogens in food processing operations and has been involved in the food industry for the last 25 years. Her passion for customer service and quality testing has enabled Food Safety Net Services to become the leading food and consumable testing company in the nation.

 
Senior Vice President of Strategic Alliances
Jeff Carpenter

Jeff Carpenter joined FSNS in 2010 as Vice President of Sales & Marketing. After a successful start–up venture in 2013–2015, he rejoined FSNS in January 2016 as Vice President of Strategic Alliances. Mr. Carpenter has over 25 years of experience in both technical and consumer product goods sales/operations with a deep knowledge and understanding of the food industry. His background includes executive level positions with Pinnacle Foods, Borden, Nestle, and Cadbury Schweppes among others. Additionally, he has received numerous sales and marketing awards including the Gail Borden Award, Walmart’s Vendor of the Year, and Pinnacle Foods (Aurora) Eagle Award. He received his Bachelor of Communication degree from Bowling Green State University in 1988.

 
Senior Vice President of Auditing Services
Lori Ernst

Lori Ernst joined Food Safety Net Services Certification & Audit in late 2007 as an Audit Specialist. She has over 23 years of experience in the food industry including 19 years working in a variety of meat plants. Various sectors in the meat industry are included in her work history including beef slaughter and fabrication, ground beef, steak portioning, marinating, injecting, breaded items, and fully cooked meat products. Ms. Ernst earned her Masters of Business Administration from Colorado State University and her undergraduate degree from Teikyo–Westmar University, which included a teaching endorsement. In addition to her auditing responsibilities, she also teaches BRC courses for FSNS. Ms. Ernst became Director of Auditing Services in early 2010 and Vice President of Audit Services in 2013.

 
Senior Vice President of Technical Services
Dr. Randal Garrett

Dr. Garrett joined Food Safety Net Services in 2013. He has an extensive background in managing a variety of food manufacturing operations as well as in food safety systems within the industry. Dr. Garrett received his Bachelor of Science, Masters of Science, and PhD in Animal Science from Texas A&M University with primary focus on meat science and muscle biology. Since completing his PhD, Dr. Garrett has worked for 22 years in the meat industry with responsibilities ranging from manager of technical quality to management of operating meat plants here in the United States and in Uruguay.

 
Vice President of Finance and Accounting
Gennadiy Liberzon

Gennadiy Liberzon joined Food Safety Net Services in 2005 as the corporate controller. He graduated from University of Texas, San Antonio with a degree in accounting and then with his Masters in Accounting from St. Mary’s University. He also has his Certificate in Public Accounting. Prior to working at FSNS, Mr. Liberzon was the associate corporate controller for Southern Steel Company for 7 years.

 
Vice President of Operations
Tim Santy

Tim Santy serves as Vice President of Operations and has been with Food Safety Net Services for 11 years. Prior to coming to FSNS, Tim was a Plant Engineer for several food processing plants for H.E. Butt Grocery Company. Prior to that, Tim was a Process Engineer for New England Wire Technologies where he worked on specialty wire and cable as well as medical device manufacturing processes and equipment. Tim began his career as an Officer in the US Army serving in Logistics. He has a BS in Civil Engineering from Norwich University, is licensed as a Professional Engineer and has his Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.

 
Senior Vice President of Human Resources
Robert Cox

“Bob” Cox joined FSNS in 2018 as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources/CHRO. He has over 25 years of enterprise-wide HR strategy and operations experience in a variety of industries to include retail, manufacturing, insurance and healthcare.  His background includes leading M&A transaction activities as well as post-acquisition integration and talent acquisition for key roles.  Mr. Cox earned his Masters of Business Administration from The University of Texas, San Antonio and his undergraduate degree in Business Management from Northwood University.

Chief Financial Officer
Doug Shepard

Doug Shepard joined as Chief Financial Officer in June 2018. He is responsible for the accounting and financial arms of FSNS as well as the purchasing function.   Prior to joining FSNS, Shepard held the CFO position at AEG, a regional eyewear retailer, Harte Hanks, Inc., a NYSE listed marketing services provider, and Visionworks Inc., an international eyewear holding company, with retail stores, manufacturing and insurance services. During his tenure, Harte Hanks continued the evolution of its product offerings with several sizable acquisitions and divestitures. Additionally, Visionworks Inc., more than tripled its store count and exceeded 1 billion in revenue during his tenure.  Shepard received his business degree with concentrations in Accounting and Finance from Trinity University in San Antonio and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Vice President of Chemistry Operations
Cole Tautges

Cole Tautges joined Food Safety Net Services in early 2019 as the Vice President of Chemistry Operations.  He has an extensive background in analytical chemistry, including over 15 years of method development and analysis experience on nutraceuticals, foods, and pharmaceuticals.  Mr. Tautges’ time prior to FSNS includes various positions at Covance, leading multiple teams within the Nutritional Chemistry and Food Safety business unit. He also led both a Stability and QC team as well as the Reference Standard Services team while at PPD, a global contract research organization. Mr. Tautges received both his Bachelor of Science and MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Vice President of Purchasing and Distribution
Kelby Harke

Kelby Harke is responsible for the enterprise supply chain at FSNS and ScICO Supply.  He has extensive experience in high-volume widely distributed operations including consumer products and B2B. Harke joined FSNS in 2019 with a customer centric approach focused on people, process, and technology.  Prior to joining FSNS, he worked at several national retailers.  Harke received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Oklahoma State University, and is a Certified Supply Chain Professional.

Vice President of Information Technology
Scott Edwardsen

Scott Edwardsen is the Vice President of Information Technology and has been with Food Safety Net Services since 2015. The FSNS IT Department is fanatical about providing first class support and infrastructure to internal and external customers.  FSNS systems are highly customizable to meet customer’s needs and provide them with reports that enable accurate data driven decisions.  Prior to coming to FSNS, Scott has also provided IT expertise at a wide variety of organizations including the US Army, a private cloud hosting provider and the largest privately owned beef producer in the Southeast.  After obtaining an MBA from the prestigious Darla Moore School of Business, Scott has continued his education in order to stay abreast of the latest IT trends.  Since security is critical at any organization, Scott has spent countless hours in this arena and is a member at ISC2, the leading community of cybersecurity professionals.

Vice President of Sales
Victoria Frazier

Victoria Frazier joined Food Safety Net Services in 2011 and currently serves as the Vice President of Sales. She started her career at FSNS as a lab technician processing microbiological samples in our Phoenix laboratory. After transitioning to a Business Development Manager role in 2012, she has held multiple positions within our sales organization. Victoria has a Masters of Science in Food Microbiology from Kansas State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Louisiana State University. Prior to working at FSNS, Victoria worked in a research lab at the University of Arizona.

Vice President of Quality and Training Operations
Amy Sorgnit

Amy Sorgnit joined FSNS in 2010 as a Laboratory Technician. Over the course of the last decade, she has held many positions within FSNS including Supervisor, Lab Manager, and Director. She currently oversees all of the quality systems and training programs for the network of FSNS Labs. She is passionate about food safety and works closely with customers.  Ms. Sorgnit received a Masters in Food Science from Kansas State University.  She also earned a Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University.  Ms. Sorgnit holds several certifications; including a Six Sigma Green Belt.  She has articles featured in Midlands Business Journal as well as Food Manufacturing Magazine. 

Vice President of Microbiology Operations
Sarah Shay

Sarah Shay joined Food Safety Net Services in 2013 as a Lab Supervisor at our Dallas location.  During her tenure at FSNS, she has held many positions including Lab Supervisor, Technical Manager, Operations Manager, Laboratory Manager, Regional Manager, and Director. She currently serves as Vice President of Microbiology Operations, which involves overseeing and managing all microbiology laboratory operations at FSNS.  Sarah has several years of experience developing leaders and has a passion for working in the microbiology labs to assist with daily efficiency and troubleshooting.  Prior to joining Food Safety Net Services, Sarah worked at Analytical Food Laboratories where she gained experience in several departments including USP, Pathogen Lab, Microbiology, and Receiving.  Sarah has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the University of Texas Arlington and a Master’s Degree in Molecular Biology from Tarleton State University.

Chief Science Officer
Dr. Alex Brandt

Dr. Brandt joined Food Safety Net Services in 2014. Dr. Brandt has expertise in many areas of food processing and production and has a major interest in the molecular biology of foodborne pathogenic bacteria. Dr. Brandt received his Bachelor of Science in Food Science & Technology, and Master of Science in Food Science & Technology from Texas A&M University, and received his PhD in Animal Science (Food Microbiology) from Texas Tech University. In his role with FSNS, Dr. Brandt provides technical and regulatory guidance to clients and assists them in the custom-development and interpretation of microbiological challenge studies, shelf-life studies, modeling studies, and testing method validation studies. Also in his role at FSNS, Dr. Brandt provides educational outreach and training, and assists clients with in-plant services such as pathogen harborage investigations, spoilage organism source investigations, and sanitation evaluations.
