Meet the Auditor – Brian Hayek
Brian Hayek has been an Audit Specialist with FSNS C&A since 2013 performing both BRC and SQF Certification audits and is a valuable member of our team. He has conducted over 250 audits at numerous facilities to assure regulatory compliance, food safety, and quality program compliance. Brian graduated from Iowa State University in 1979 achieving a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. Brian began his career in the meat industry working as a hog buyer for a packing house after graduating from college. He worked as a hog buyer for two years before beginning work as a food technologist in the processed meat industry, applying the science of making hot dogs, bologna, salami, smoked bone-in and boneless hams and bacon. After six years as a technologist, Brian went to work for an employee-owned company as a production superintendent. The company produced cook-in-bag deli and slicing hams and canned hams. As the company expanded into smoked and sliced meats, Brian was promoted to a Food Safety/Quality Assurance Manager. Brian left the company in the spring of 2013 to devote more time to his farming operation of 15 years.
